Silicon Coating
Today our MT Chemical Luna, finished her docking and I am happy to tell you that we have made the next step in our journey towards sustainable shipping.
The Chemical Luna has been recoated with a silicone coating which reduces friction, resulting in less consumption and thus less CO2 emission. Another benefit is that it reduces underwater noise which is good for the wildlife in the oceans. Next to the coating, also a Bosscapfin was installed (placed at the propellor: see pictures), which also helps to reduce the consumption and also less CO2 emissions into the air.
Both measurements are significantly increasing the efficiency of the vessels movement and the application of both innovations show the next steps in our CO2 reduction program, which will benefit all of us. Hence, please join us when we are “Setting Sail Toward Sustainable Shipping”
